The cannabis industry has exploded in the last 12 to 24 months but continues to pose a special challenge from a financing standpoint, given the fact that the facilities are often located in secondary and tertiary markets and lenders do not see value in those building outside of the given use. We did a detailed financial analysis and provided enough comfort to the lending community by structuring a corporate facility and a fixed-rate term loan backed by real estate collateral and a GSA-secured first charge against the assets and equipment of the company.
